超一流の詐欺師ニッキーは同業者たちを束ねる集団のボス。ある日、彼は高級ホテルのレストランで女性詐欺師のジェスと出会う。彼女はニッキーを騙そうとするが、逆に彼の詐欺のテクニックに魅了されてしまう。結果、ニッキーの詐欺一味に加わったジェスはめきめきと頭角を現わし、やがて彼の信頼を得るように。だが、最後の大きなヤマに勝った後、ニッキーは姿を消してしまう。数年後、2人は思わぬ形で再会する。
